We’ve collect extraordinary wood and we want to share it with you.
Sourced from fallen and reclaimed sources, we found a Douglas Fir beam from a San Francisco pier built in the mid 1800’s. We have a slice of Cypress that looks like a flower, and a gigantic crosscut of Elm. Just to name a few!
These rounds are meticulously burned and gently scraped, exposing their rings and creating an intricate pattern of their life. We then print them by hand, using archival cotton paper and traditional Japanese woodblock ink.
This process captures not only the organic beauty of the tree, but also the histories their rings tell. Take in their detail, simple beauty, and sense of place these works convey.
